There is always something happening down at the river - fishing boats at the wharf, children's playground, restaurants, and of course the marina with a myriad of craft. Take a 5 minute ferry ride to the other side and once you've walked up the hill and down the other side, there are beautiful beaches to visit at Front Beach and Flaxmill Bay, with Cooks Beach the next beach around!

For visitors from overseas, there's Hot Water Beach with it's natural thermal activity under the sand. Make sure you allow two hours either side of the low tide to be able to dig yourselves a hole and sit in the natural warm water.
